The International Community for Project Managers (ICPM)

Since the beginning of time, projects of varying size and complexity have been constructed. They were pioneered by great Engineers of their time. Projects like the Pyramids in Egypt, the great China Wall, The Eiffel Tower in Paris and many others, represent the phenomenal endeavours to subject the laws of nature for the benefit of mankind.

Project management must not be limited to the management of projects alone.  There must be more awareness to the fact that project management covers, and is applicable to, a broad range of management disciplines. The fact that the focus of project management is on delivery makes it a core and essential management discipline for any organisation, or for that matter, it is applicable to most positions in any type of organisation at different levels.  For most employees knowledge of the basic principles of project management will be conducive to the functionality of the organisation in at least two ways namely the application of a projectised thought process when performing tasks and better understanding of the requirements of larger projects.  It is therefore quite understandable that many organisations require project management require project management training as part of the induction process for all new employees.
